Product Management & Business Development

Example: Developed two new divisions at Honeycomb Worldwide (one in traditional conferences, the other web-based), built product team; 15th fastest growing company in Canada, increasing revenue 571% over two years.

Web & Print Content Development (and Integration)

Example: Developed PRDs, specs, designed templates, created content and implemented project plan for Rogers award-winning business websites, and also project managed Chatelaine.com’s 75th anniversary website and Canoe.ca’s redesign.

 

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

 

Oct. 2006 TO      Canoe Inc. (Quebecor Inc.), Toronto

PRESENT             Director, portal Product Management. (Full-time/Permanent)

Responsibilities: Along with a team of Product Managers and Business Analysts for one of Canada’s largest homegrown portal, our role at Canoe.ca  is to drive the business planning and accountability for the key business performance indicators for Canoe’s English and French information verticals. We are responsible for increasing the profitability of existing products and developing new products, through collaboration with editorial, sales, marketing, design and tech.

 

Oct. 2003 TO      Honeycomb Worldwide Group of Companies, Toronto

Oct. 2006            VP, Business Development, formerly Editorial Director. (Full-time/Permanent)

Responsibilities: Honeycomb Worldwide Inc. provides both physical and online conferences for executives all over the world. My role allowed me to create world-class content, lead a diverse team of Editors, Developers and Product Managers, learn about and implement new technologies (Webinars, podcasting, rss, etc.), and gain experience with entrepreneurship (strategic alliances, staffing). I was responsible for overseeing all operations and production of print materials and online content—editorial, marketing and PR. With the CEO, I developed business plan for two start-up companies—Xtalks (profiled in the London Times) and The Advantage Board.

 

Aug. 2000 to      Rogers Media Publishing, Toronto

Oct. 2003            The Women’s Group: Chatelaine.com, Flare.com (May 2002 – Oct. 2003)

Project ManAger.  (Full-time/Permanent)

Responsibilities: I project managed microsites (both advertising and editorial) from inception to completion and maintained all the daily, weekly or monthly updates. This involved campaign brainstorming with account reps, creating timelines, some design and copy writing, newsletter creation and list management, management of external developers and liaising with clients.
Rogers Business Information Group, AKA Bizlink (Aug. 2000 – May 2002)
Online Content Manager & Editor. (Full-time/Permanent)

Responsibilities: Working with both publishers and editors, my job was to drive traffic and maintain the standards of the print publications online—through content creation, management and marketing. I was responsible for the creation of 10 e-newsletters a month and five Web sites: Plant, Design Engineering, It for Industry, Canadian Metalworking, and Food in Canada.

Responsibilities: My job was to generate local stories and maintain high quality websites for Burlington, Barrie, Brampton and Vaughan, in addition to recruiting and editing writers.

Responsibilities: I was responsible for editing, researching and writing daily articles for IDOnline.com and Investors Digest. In addition, I helped with administration and communications.
